LSU Football Three Keys: Auburn

Three-keys-LSU

LSU is on the road for the first time under Brian Kelly this weekend as the Tigers travel to Auburn to take on the rival Tigers.

Here are the three keys to an LSU victory over Auburn:

The Health Of Jayden Daniels

The transfer from Arizona State has been outstanding at quarterback for LSU. He did everything possible in almost running down Florida State in the opener, and he has been the key cog in the machine ever since. The problem is that he was knocked out of the game against New Mexico with a back injury. Daniels was cleared to return per reports, but it has to be a worry until LSU fans see him pass the ball again. A healthy Daniels will be massive for LSU.

No Turnovers

LSU is a better football team than Auburn. The Tigers got run off the farm by Penn State and then were in a world of trouble in overtime against Mizzou before a Tigers (the Columbia ones) fumble. as they were driving to score. When the better team loses, it is normally because they make too many mistakes. Those mistakes usually come in the form of turnovers and penalties. LSU is a well-coached team (and getting all the better) under Kelly, and they will need to stay clean here.

Get To The Quarterback

LSU might be facing a former Tiger this weekend as quarterback TJ Finley is the starter at Auburn. Finley, however, might miss the game injured, as he didn’t play against Missouri, with Robby Ashford getting the start. Whoever starts, the Auburn passing game hasn’t been good. The two quarterbacks have combined for just 800(ish) yards and two touchdowns passing. The bigger issue is the six combined interceptions that have been thrown. The offensive line is a work in progress, and the LSU pass rush should have a field day in the Auburn backfield.

This game kicks off at 6:00 PM CT (7:00 PM ET). Fans can watch this SEC football game on the ESPN Network.
