Auburn-South Carolina Prediction

The Auburn Tigers won the SEC championship last season. They will almost certainly not win it this year. Their loss to Kentucky on Saturday leaves them with a lot of ground to make up, and they haven’t even played Tennessee. Bruce Pearl’s team can’t let that reality hijack what is left of the season. After all, teams can finish in the middle of the SEC and still make a March run. Just ask the team Auburn will play on Tuesday night. The South Carolina Gamecocks unraveled late in the 2017 SEC season but found a second wind in March and rode it all the way to the school’s first Final Four. This year’s Gamecocks were crushed in non-conference play but have rebounded in SEC competition. Auburn needs to win, but South Carolina has shown it gets up for these games. Expect a nail-biter. Auburn 75, South Carolina 74. (Matt Zemek)
