Good to know, I'll certainly watch for that tonight. Not criticizing but why does it matter that A&M goes to Knoxville? I get the Vandy/Auburn matchup is pertinent.

Thank you, CIW.
From 2 hours down the road in Huntsville. Hope they have a band as entertaining as TSU's.

Re: 2023 Schedule Nuggets
Quite a few oddities here:
* An open date before the Tennessee game.
* The week 0 game against Hawaii (please let it be at night).
* Last home game is November 4.
* Just like this year, we play all four non-conference games to start the season (with two on the road, again).

Re: 2023 Schedule Nuggets
For a program that hardly ever ventured beyond the Central Time Zone, we will have played three seasons in a row in time zones west of Central Time.
Re: 2023 Schedule Nuggets
Similar to this year's schedule but swapping out Alabama for Auburn and NIU for UNLV, which is good.

Re: 2023 Schedule Nuggets
Besides Vanderbilt, Florida is the only team to play only six games in its home stadium in 2023. (UF does host Georgia in Jacksonville for its seventh "home" game.)

Definitely a much easier, front-loaded with the easiest games next year. We might even approach flirting with 5 or 6 wins next year.

Hmmm... nobody thinks we have a chance to win five games this year... fine. But me, I'm not so sure that's the case.dallasdore wrote: ↑Tue Sep 20, 2022 7:45 pm Definitely a much easier, front-loaded with the easiest games next year. We might even approach flirting with 5 or 6 wins next year.

Re: 2023 Schedule Nuggets
Only 6 home games this year too. Seems like most SEC programs are able to get 3 of their 4 non-conference games at home every year.
And as someone mentioned above, no home game after Nov. 4, unlike this year when we close out the regular season at home with Florida and Tennessee in late November. At least we don't have the huge month-long gaps in home games like this year.

Brent, I sure as heck hope you are right. I think CCL is the right choice for the job, but with the uphill climb he has, even I don’t think he can pull that kind of miracle.BrentVU wrote: ↑Tue Sep 20, 2022 8:13 pmHmmm... nobody thinks we have a chance to win five games this year... fine. Re: 2023 Schedule Nuggets
After the NIU game, I think 2 more wins are possible -- against either Mizzou, South Carolina or Florida (the latter two of which are at FirstBank Stadium). I think the NIU comeback helped the team's confidence, but would potential beatdowns at Bama and Georgia hurt that confidence? Will CCL & Co. come up with a creative and effective way to keep Mike Wright in the game? Compared to last year, 5 wins might be a miracle -- but I agree with Brent: it's possible.dallasdore wrote: ↑Tue Sep 20, 2022 11:40 pmBrent, I sure as heck hope you are right. Re: 2023 Schedule Nuggets
2023 opens very similarly to 2022, and a 4-0 start would be a definite sign of improvement over this season's 3-1, and I believe a distinct possibility. After that, I think there are 3 or 4 SEC opponents that could be vanquished by the Commodores as well.
That said, I haven't given up on the possibility of picking off some SEC wins this year. Mizzou seems to be everyone's popular choice as the dregs of the league, and South Carolina has not impressed. Playing Florida at home, couple with their hot-and-cold QB play opens a possibility for an upset as well. Of course, depending on how things go between now and mid-November, it might be less of an upset.
