Watching the Tennessee Titans’ debacle today, they said on TV that the Houston Texans’ coach David Culley was from Sparta, Tennessee and that he went to Vanderbilt.
I don’t remember him playing at Vanderbilt.
Congratulations on the big win, Coach Culley!
Also former Vanderbilt star Zach Cunningham had a good game.

Recruited by Sloan and was there in the early to mid 70s.

According to wiki he played QB for Vandy. Since he was born in '55, he played 45 years ago.

According to Football Reference he played at VU 1975/76/77 but didn't play very much. May have been recruited by Sloan but played for Pancoast. Third string QB in 1975, 1976, co-second string in 1977.

He was memorable for an absolutely huge Afro. Wish I could find a picture. Maybe some one else can. As already posted, he played very little.

He was a graduate assistant or volunteer coach for George Mac at least one year in the early 80's.
