Questions about attending on Championship Sunday?
I wanted to attend the game today but had to work until almost game time. Fortunately, I’m off tomorrow so it’s a road trip from Atlanta. My special needs son and I will be attending so I don’t want to get there so early as to burn him out before the game begins. How early should we arrive to get parking, tickets, and decent general admission seats but not be too, too early? Any suggestions?
What’s the best way to get tickets? Will they be available at the box office, through Vandy, through the SEC sports website, or one of the ticket resell sites?
Thanks for your replies.

There is a Indoor fan fest link that is available from 11:30 to the 7th inning. You can go early and be indoors or even later if the heat gets to be too bad.

Re: Questions about attending on Championship Sunday?
First, parking won't be a problem. Biggest parking lot I have ever seen for a stadium that size. Just remember where you parked.
Without Alabama teams or the schools that bring the biggest crowds (LSU, Arkansas, Florida), tickets should not be a problem. Get them at the gate or just outside the gate.
When my son was still alive (Ben had Downs), we would get there about an hour early, get food and drink, try to find shade. Bring sun screen, caps and sun glasses. Ben loved the games, really got into them, and would sleep all the way back to Montgomery.
Get your son into the game and the crowd will respond. Will be a blast.

Note: Reserved seats may be sold out, but many were bought by LSU, Mississippi State, and Arkansas fans. Should be plenty available.

You don't want reserved tickets as they are the ones close to the field and perpetually in the sun! General admission is the upper sections and do provide some shade.

Re: Questions about attending on Championship Sunday?
Yes, DEFINITELY get general admission, because of the sun factor already mentioned. Tickets were $18 each for prior sessions. Parking is free. There are 2 lanes entering the stadium parking area. The rightmost left turn lane is almost always less crowded. Arriving 30 minutes prior should be fine. There is ample handicapped parking, if that is applicable. There are also a few golf carts that are used to carry elderly and special needs folk of all ages to the gate. The 3rd base line, high up, is the best bet for avoiding the sun if I remember correctly. Shade on that side will increase as the game progresses.

Thanks, everyone, for your replies and the information!
I’m about to get him up; as long as he’s doing okay this morning, we’ll be on our way! He’ll be wearing a “Commodore leaning on the cannon” shirt and I’ll be the guy with him. Say hi if you see us.
Go Dores!
