Would love to get this guy, seems to fit our needs and roster in many ways. However, according to SBNation , "from the Netherlands, cannot earn money from NIL deals in the United States due to his visa status." Apparently Syracuse tried to find an answer but couldn't; may be an obstacle for anyone. Hope VU at least looks into it.

Seems like it puts us more on a level playing field given that our NIL money cannot match other schools'.OldDude wrote: ↑Tue Apr 11, 2023 9:51 am Would love to get this guy, seems to fit our needs and roster in many ways. If Stack leaves, we can get him and Boeheim (which would make me puke)

Re: another name to throw around….
We offered him as dumpster fire years ago.
We can offer him now with one of the best backcourts in college basketball - plus his one year eligibility would give young bigs time to mature, but nothing to worry about.
And he is not a NIL problem.
It is a really good fit.

Re: another name to throw around….
Playing to my devious nature. NIL is not a pay for performance of any duty deal, therefore is it truly earned income which I assume is the visa issue ? Why could VU not pay him NIL money for endorsement / image in the Netherlands ? Legal as far as NCAA (almost nonexistant) rules and can't believe INS has any controls or limits on someone here on a student visa as to income in their home country.

Edwards is already down to a final three of Gonzaga, Kansas and West Virginia.
