I think we can get this one, and I already regret saying that because I'm convinced the basketball gods hate me. We're currently tied with Kentucky for 12th place with 2-11 conference records. The winner still has a chance to get up to 10th place and catch Auburn to avoid the first-round game in the conference tourney. (Florida is also a game ahead of us, but their schedule is really tough).
The first-round game is actually only a disadvantage if you are going to make a long run through the tourney. That ain't us. Actually, a first-round game would be our best chance to win a tourney game. Still, as a matter of pride, I want us to finish the regular season as high as possible.
Kentucky's best player has turned out to be Auburn grad transfer Robyn Benton. Another good one is Oregon transfer Maddie Scherr, and they have their point guard back from last season, Jada Walker. They're a team that seems to be generally considered better than their record. I don't think folks see us that way. Still, it's senior day, and the matchup is not as one sided as many we've seen this year.

Benton and Scherr both missed the last game and Scherr didn’t score the game before after only playing 16 minutes. I don’t know what their status is for today, but I’ll like to see our ladies enjoy a big game….it would certainly help after the year they have had!

Benton had an ankle injury but is back today. Scherr has been sick. Not sure of her status for today's game.

Great second half. Kentucky has a player ejected and a tech on the coach.

And a dominating win it is because of second half play. Congratulations.
