Re: Support for a 9-game SEC slate is reportedly waning

Why not 2 permanent 7 rotating? I know that messes with all the even math folks but here are some examples of two permanents Vanderbilt- Tenn, Kentucky Alabama Auburn, Tenn Georgia Florida , Auburn Auburn Alabama, Georgia Florida Georgia, LSU, Ole Miss Miss st, LSU, Tenn Vanderbilt, Ala, LSU ole ms,...

I read elsewhere he is also a punter and plays baseball, I think coach Lea and staff are using the Corbin model of recruiting competitive athletes with acumen in multiple sports. Welcome aboard!

Re: ESPN's David Hale, Bill Connelly advocate for relegation (and mention Vanderbilt) in Q&A piece about realignment

IMO we’re already at risk of major college football becoming a regional sport. The best example I can think of is Major League Baseball going from “America’s Favorite Pastime” to being, at best, the third most popular sport in America. When the New York Yankees and a few other rich organizations can...

Re: Texas, Oklahoma coming to the SEC a year earlier than expected

Also we’ll have a winning record against an SEC opponent in Texas at 8-3-1. For football history nerds (albeit ancient) during the McGugin years Vanderbilt and Texas had a good rivalry playing in Dallas at the state fair before Texas changed the opponent to Oklahoma.

Re: A Beat Down in Progress

This is what happens when you get a team that would have gone 6-6 in the SEC in the championship game. TCU would have lost to Bama and UT and probably LSU, Ole Miss and USC. TCU would have lost to Michigan about 9 times out of 10, with the one coming in a game in which they got a three TD swing off...

Re: a few thoughts on a very important win

Thanks Roanoke for the postgame recap! One of the other things I find refreshing in Coach Lea is the ability to adapt. I think last year he was trying to figure out what the offensive identity would be thus we basically had two o coordinators for awhile but he recognizes when changes need to be made...

Hawaii is known for giving fits to a favorite team in that first game of the year and often beats the spread, as long as we win this by one one point with no significant injuries I’ll be happy.

Re: What Goes into Conference Membership

Expulsion from the SEC is never going to happen because "you don't win enough", or "aren't committed enough", in my opinion. If VU is ever out of the SEC, it will be by their choice, or because the SEC as we have always known it ceases to exist. I know the SEC is not now or ever...

In the end I think they will go to the 3 - 6 nine game format, if so they need to do away with the requirement of at least one OOC game must be a power five opponent.

Re: SEC to talk about scheduling changes at spring meetings

I foresee no divisions, a 3 team permanent foe (ut, ky, om) and 6 rotating every year. You would play every team every 2 years. The big drawback is you would have 4 home games one year and 5 the next. I would like to see 8 SEC games every year, but we have to face the fact no one is interested in m...
