The Vanderbilt Commodores visit the No. 2 ranked Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday in Athens, Ga. Here are your three keys to a Commodore victory.

Frustrate Fromm
Georgia is a multi-dimensional team that can burn opponents on the ground or through the air. A big reason for that ability is sophomore quarterback Jake Fromm. Fromm is probably the key element that sets the 2017 and 2018 Bulldog teams apart the 2016 Georgia squad that lost to Vandy. Fromm is 17-2 as a starter, including 5-2 versus Top 25 teams. He is ranked third in the nation in completion percentage at 72.5. Vandy’s D needs to somehow get pressure on Fromm and keep him from doing his thing.
Win the turnover battle
Vanderbilt started the season strong in the turnover ration statistic but has since cool off protecting the ball and creating opponent turnovers. A loss at Notre Dame is and a narrow win over TSU were likely caused by turnovers. The Commodores have to protect the ball better on offense while the VU defense must create a couple of turnovers from Georgia. An even turnover margin for this game likely means a Vanderbilt loss.
Fight for respect
Georgia is again scheduling Vanderbilt for homecoming. They didn’t learn their lesson last time. The Commodores need to go down there and make the Bulldogs look like a bunch of poodles. Seriously, Vandy should be fuming over the lack of respect for the Commodore program. Be road warriors in Athens, just like in 2016. Many players from both sides that played in the 2016 game will be playing on Saturday. Why not a repeat win over the arrogant Bulldogs?
Saturday’s game kicks off at 6:30 pm CT (7:30 ET) and can be seen on the SEC Network.
