Vanderbilt gained another 2019 football commit on Monday when Brentwood Academy lineman Nate Clifton announced he would wear the Black and Gold.
Nate Clifton, a 6-5, 265 pound offensive and defensive lineman, announced his decision in Twitter post.
“I have been humbled by every collegiate institution and service academy that offered me and believed in my potential,” Clifton wrote. “With that being said, I, Nathan Clifton am 110% committed to God & Vanderbilt football.”
In addition to Vandy, Clifton also landed FBS offers from Cincinnati, Tulane, Western Kentucky, Navy, and Central Michigan. Several FCS teams also offered the future Commodore. Clifton apparently had Vandy, Cincinnati and Navy as his finalist.
Following the 2018 season Clifton earned All-Division II-AAA East/Middle region honors.
Watching Clifton’s video (below) the newest Vandy commit has the tenacity and aggressiveness needed in a defensive lineman. He has the ability to chase down opposing running backs.
