This class of 2021 recruit stands at 6-foot tall and 180 pounds, with the 247Sports Composite Rankings having him listed as the No. 934 player in the nation, the No. 81 CB and the No. 129 player in the state of Texas.
Interestingly, 247Sports actually has Lowery considerably higher in their own rankings, sitting at No. 54 on their list of CBs. Lowery picked the Razorbacks over seven other finalists for his collegiate pledge, including schools such as Michigan State, Texas Tech, and Oregon State.
Lowery had a productive season for the Fightin’ Raccoons as a junior where he excelled in all three phases of the game. He recorded 48 tackles and four interceptions on defense, had 34 catches for over 750 yards and seven touchdowns on offense, while also scoring three touchdowns in the return game (two punts and one kickoff). He is expected to play on the defensive side of the ball in Fayetteville.
Chase Lowery Scouting Report
This is Lowey’s defensive – and special teams – highlight video and it shows what the CB has about him to succeed at the next level. His speed is a huge factor as you can see on the second play where he takes a kickoff to the house by finding a seam and turning on the jets. Lowery is not a player that a QB can force a pass close to as he has an excellent ability to read the ball in the air and break on it to make a play on an errant throw.
Chase Lowery is one of those CBs with fluid hips who is able to stick with good route runners and compete for the ball at its highest point. This is a skill that will be huge in college where the passing threat is greater. He is also a smart tackler in the open field who breaks down at the correct time to make form tackles on bigger backs.
