Georgia LB commit Chaz Chambliss has aggressive nature

Georgia Recruiting Update

Keeping the cream of the talent at home is always going to be important in the SEC. That is why it is a big deal that the Georgia Bulldogs landed the commitment of the No. 8 linebacker in the Class of 2021 with the pledge of Carrollton High School star Chaz Chambliss.

Chambliss – already a man at 6-foot-2 and 239 pounds – presents as the next stud outside linebacker in the Bulldogs’ program. The 4-star talent is ranked as the No. 18 linebacker in the country and the No. 255 prospect nationally by the 247Sports Composite Rankings. The commitment saw Chambliss pick Georgia over a number of other big-time schools including Alabama, LSU, and Ohio State.

Chambliss is a big add for the Bulldogs as he fulfils a position that head coach Kirby Smart recognized as a position of need going into the cycle. He plays with an aggressive nature – as you would expect from a guy with his size advantage – but he does so in a way that is controlled by his knowledge of the game. Chambliss is one of those OLBs that almost seem to know the play before it is put in motion and always finds his way to be at the point of attack.

The video below shows what Chambliss is all about. From just watching a couple of the clips you can see he is a guy with a motor that coaches at the college level will love. He is comfortable taking on blockers and running through them, making screens to his side of the field almost impossible. Seeing Chambliss run down and make a cover tackle on a running back 20 yards downfield is the type of play that will add an extra star to the recruiting profile and we see Chambliss doing this later on in the video. His combination of hustle, skill and aggression will make him a fan favorite in Athens.
