Benjamin Key Commits to Missouri

Missouri Recruiting Update

California junior college defensive lineman Benjamin Key has committed to Missouri.

The Missouri Tigers added their 13th 2020 commit/signee on Thursday when East Los Angeles College defensive lineman Benjamin Key announced he would be a Tiger. Key is rated 3 stars by 247Sports.com and Rivals.com.

The California native selected Mizzou over offers from Oregon State, Arizona, San Jose State, Utah and Mississippi State (which he was previously committed to). During his time at East Los Angeles College Key had 37 tackles, 7 tackles for loss, 2 forced fumbles, and 3 sacks. Prior to attending East Los Angeles College, Key attended Cathedral high school in Los Angeles.

Key, a 6-foot-5, 285 pound is originally from Australia. Watching his video below you’ll see that he is a rugged player who gives 100 percent on every play. He’s got great quickness for a man his size and relentlessly pursues opposing offensive players. Key was also used as a fullback and you can see watch him exhibit his speed on several plays near the end of the below video. He appears to have all the tools to be an SEC lineman both mentally and physically. He hasn’t played football that long so good coaching along with improved strength and conditioning could do wonders with him.

All in all, Benjamin Key appears to be an intriguing pickup for the Missouri Tigers.
