It is time for another recruiting win for the Georgia Bulldogs and Kirby smart as the ‘Dogs use the momentum gained from a spectacular 2021 season to continue to land some of the best players in the country.

This time the win is on the offensive line, with Smart securing the commitment of Earnest Greene who is a 4-star recruit in the class of 2022.

Greene is a monster. He is listed at 6-foot-4.5 and right at 330 pounds. He is the type of recruit that shows the range with which the Bulldogs appeal at the current time as he attends St. John Bosco High School all the way out on the West Coast in Bellflower, CA. Greene is ranked by the recruiting matrix that is the 247Sports Composite Rankings as being the No. 40 player in the class, the No. 2 ranked interior offensive lineman, and the No. 3 player in the state of California.

The Bulldogs beat a host of national powerhouses for the commitment of Greene including Ohio State, Texas, and SEC foe Alabama. Greene is noted for his versatility – he played left/right tackle as a sophomore in high school but will likely play guard at the next level – and when he is healthy (he was hurt for some of his sophomore season) he is a dynamic and fluid athlete for his immense size.

In his midseason highlights video below you can see what Greene is all about. The first play is incredible. It has nothing to do with his blocking at all, but the instincts of Greene and his ability to change gear and run a perfect angle to chase down and tackle a defensive back after an interception show everything about both his desire to win and his football smarts.

The rest of the video is more of what you would expect. The second play sees Greene collapsing two defensive players in a space about as big as a phone booth in a way that looks effortless. Greene ALWAYS finishes his blocks with that mean streak that separates the best offensive linemen and his ability to get to the second level is something that the Bulldogs will utilize with their effective running game.
