Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide recruiting staff are continuing their march towards another top ranked class as they add more and more pieces to their recruiting haul for the class of 2022.

The latest addition to that class is 4-star cornerback Trequon Fegans out of Thompson (Alabaster, Alabama) High School.

Fegans – a 6-foot-2, 181 pounder that fits the physical style and stature that Saban wants for his defensive backs – is rated by the 247Sports Composite Rankings as the No. 85 player in the class, the No. 11 cornerback, and the No. 5 player in Alabama. He chose to commit to the Crimson Tide over finalists including Miami (which is where many experts predicted he would land) and South Carolina.

Fegans made a name for himself in the Alabama prep ranks when he helped his team win a state title with five interceptions returned for touchdowns over the course of the season. He is a dangerous returner, tackles well, and has instincts in coverage that always seem to take him into a position to make a play on the ball with his long frame. Often those plays are interceptions as he is able to high point the ball in the style of a wide receiver.

His junior highlight tape that you can see in the video below is very impressive. The first play is an interception return for a touchdown where he finds a way to get his hands on the ball and then shows running back instincts to carve his way into the open field and then outstanding top end speed to knife into the end zone. The fourth play shows good ability to beat a block in the open field to make a tackle, while the fifth is end zone coverage that is completely unbeatable as Fegans jumps up to knock away a pass in which he has his wide receiver in total lockdown.
