There aren’t that many Top 100 players in the Class of 2021 still to commit and that number shrunk by one more on Tuesday as wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. out of Walker (Walker, LA) High School decided to stay in-state and play for Ed Orgeron at LSU.

Thomas sits at No. 88 nationally on the 247Sports Composite Ranking system. He is the No. 13 wide receiver in the class and the No. 4 player in Louisiana. The 247Sports experts have Thomas ranked slightly higher, slotting him in as the No. 9 wide receiver and the No. 4 player in the state. The commitment of the 6-foot-4 and 190 pound Thomas pushes the LSU class to the No. 3 ranking 2021 ahead of Georgia and the Tigers still have two scholarship spots to fill.
The commit gives LSU five wideouts in the class. Thomas is a physically gifted athlete, one with ideal explosion and power to play the wide receiver spot at the college position and give his quarterback a big target with an outstanding catch radius. Thomas is also a basketball player, a fact that means he is going to win more than his fair share of contested passes by knowing how to use his body in space and by having strong hands.
In the video you can see all of these physical gifts on display. The very first play is nothing more than a jump ball on a fade where Thomas has to fight to get position and then elevate over a defender to score. He makes the whole play look incredibly easy thanks to his ability to pinpoint the flight of the ball and attack it in the air at the right time. Later plays showcase even more explosion, with Thomas helping out in all three phases of the game as the best athlete on the field every time he crosses the white line.
