Damon Payne Scouting Report
Damon Payne is the top ranked player in the state of Michigan and unanimously one of the highest picked defensive tackles in the country. Extremely athletic on a large frame that could make him an early starter on most power five schools. Has room to add lean mass on and is already physically close to game ready. Great at hand usage to get off blocks as shown in the video below at the 00:54 mark. Excellent read and react skills that pair well with his quickness to explode off the snap into the gap that make him a solid run stopper. Likely to end up an early NFL draft pick as he continues to develop. (DT Yates)
