Tyson Russell Scouting Report
Tyson Russell helped lead St. Thomas Aquinas to a perfect season and state championship as a junior. Good football pedigree as son of Twan Russell who played for seven years in the NFL. Excellent directional speed with good jumps out of his back pedal. Did track and field where he ran the 200, triple and long jumps. As shown in the video below at the 01:36 mark, Russell has excellent reaction time out of his breaks to attack the screen despite being briefly held. Has the kind of aggressive physicality you like to see in a cornerback. Also spent time at safety over the top where he performed with great sideline to sideline speed. (DT Yates)
