Elijah Howard played both ways with superior vision with an excellent ability at directional change at running back. Shows an aptitude for catching out of the back field and making defenders miss in the open field. At the 0:19 mark in the video below Howard effectively reads his blocks before bouncing outside for an eventual touchdown. Extremely good at waiting for his blocks to develop and hitting the holes as they open. Played defensive back and showed an aptitude for breaking on the runner as the play developed. Was not afraid to fly in for a large hit and equally does well soaking hits as a runner.
