Earnest Crownover, a 6-1, 220-pound Kilgore, Texas JUCO running back, committed to the Texas A&M Aggies during his visit to College Station earlier in January.
He was the seventh ranked JUCO running back as a freshman at Kilgore and received offers from Oregon, Baylor and most recently California. He’s got football roots as the son of Baylor defensive lineman Earnest Crownover and is the older brother of consensus 2021 four-star tight end Dametrious Crownover. Dametrious has also been receiving offers at a rapid rate, up to two dozen and landing Earnest is said not to hurt the chances for the younger brother in the slightest.
Crownover will have three seasons of eligibility left after originally committing to Army in 2018. If there were any concerns about his strength or balance those were easily dissuaded after seeing the kickoff shown 0:56 into the attached video. It takes a bad bounce and shoots over his head before he collects himself and the ball and miraculously breaks a tackle before going for a long score. Breaking tackles seems to be a common occurrence for Crownover who bounces off tackles with ease with solid lower body strength. He’s more than capable catching out of the backfield and should give another legitimate threat to the Aggies in the run game.
First I would like to thank God for everything he’s done for me and all the talents that he has blessed me with. Also, I would like to thank my family and coaches that have supported me along the way. With that being said, after a great visit I will be committing to TAMU?? #GigEm pic.twitter.com/rFG3i2pj5s
