New LSU WR Commit Has Fantastic Speed

LSU Recruiting Update

Alex Adams is a 6-foot-1, 185-pound blazing fast wide receiver commit who will get a chance to add to the defending national champion LSU Tigers’ high powered offense.

By DT Yates

The Mississippi native was once a Mississippi State commit who had offers from Auburn, Florida State, Ole Miss and Tennessee. He is rated 3-stars by both Rivals.com and 247Sports.com. Adams is an elusive scorcher who creates separation at a ridiculously fast rate as his film below will show.

Large for his speed and ranked as high as the 10th best player in the state, Adams played on a talented roster that included athlete Dontavious Turner who also received multiple division one offers. He ran track and field where he’s listed as high as 10.78 in the 100m and 22.76 in the 200m. Adams also did the relay and has an impressive long jump ability that he flashes while going up big for passes.

At the play 03:04 in the video below, we see how Adams takes a simple curl route before eluding a would-be tackler and turning on his jets. He doesn’t allow anyone else close enough to put a hand on him. We repeatedly see this on his film with multiple screens and short routes thrown his way turning into huge scores. Though Adams can use his speed to torch defenses, he’s also shown a strong capability of adjusting and fighting for balls in traffic when necessary.
