This is a battle of two teams headed in opposite directions. LSU, after winning last year’s national title, has spiraled. The Gators improved last season and have continued that improvement, except defensively, this season. It’s a head-scratcher as to why LSU is still ranked. This is why polls shouldn’t be a factor in deciding the CFP teams or at least polls that have an impact on the selection of playoff participants should not begin until halfway through the season. This a game Florida wins by double-digits. LSU just doesn’t have it this season. Maybe in a couple of seasons the Tigers will be back in the thick of things.
