Arkansas football three keys: Missouri

Three-keys-Arkansas

Arkansas football faces Missouri on Saturday in Columbia, Mo. Here are your three keys to an Arkansas victory.

By Don Yates

1. Slow down Bazelak

Connor Bazelak is a freshman quarterback for Missouri. So far this season Bazelak has done well for the Tigers completing 147 of 209 passes for 1,622 yards five touchdowns and just two interceptions. Last weekend against Vandy he connected on 30-of-37 (81%) passes for 318 yards. He’s a player the Razorbacks have to keep under control and not allow video game numbers.

2. Rush for over 115 yards

Mizzou has ridden its defense to success. The Tigers are very strong against the run. However, every opponent that has been able to rush for more than 115 yards on the Tigers has been able to defeat Missouri. The 115 yards doesn’t seem like a lot but that trend is a fact. Alabama won with just 111 yards rushing.

3. The terrific three

Arkansas is loaded with fine tacklers. The Hogs currently have three players among the top 10 in the SEC in number of tackles. Linebacker Grant Morgan is No. 1 the conference with 104 stops followed by safety Jalen Catalon (86) and linebacker Bumper Pool at the No. 4 position with 82 stops. This is a coach’s dream and hopefully for the Razorbacks it can continue on Saturday.

Saturday‘s game kicks off at 11:00 AM CT (12:00 PM ET). You can watch this Arkansas football game on the SEC Network.
