Challenges for Vanderbilt

Suprise! Your home game with rival Tennessee has now become a road game to Missouri. The good news is that the weather forecast says that it will be sunny and in the 50s at game time on Saturday. That bodes well for the Commodores’ young Texan quarterback, Ken Seals, and other ‘Dore players who may have never played a game in extremely cold weather. This is one of the two remaining games that Vandy has a shot at winning, Tennessee being the other. This Missouri team is a little better defensively than many of the Commodores opponents so far. They are fifth in the league in total defense (376.2 ypg) but eighth in scoring defense (29.2 ppg). Vanderbilt’s challenge is to just play a little better in all phases of the game and keep turnovers to no more than one. Missouri is almost as poor as Vandy at turning the ball over. Really, if you take away the Mississippi State game the ‘Dores have been pretty good in that area.
