Challenges for Vanderbilt

Vanderbilt hits the road to Mississippi State and Mike Leach. Leach and MSU came out on fire, knocking off LSU in their opener. However, things have gone downhill since then. The Bulldogs are in desperate need of a win. The Bulldogs like to pass and have seven receivers with 15 or more catches this season. MSU quarterback KJ Costello has completed 134 of 207 passes for 1,283 yards, 6 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. The Vanderbilt challenge is to keep the Bulldogs five-game slide going. They can do this by shutting down the State passing attack and getting some interceptions. Vandy needs to give up some of the cushions they’ve been giving opposing receivers over the first four games. Vandy’s been getting eaten alive doing that. More man-to-man at least gives the team a chance.
