Tennessee Football Three Keys: BYU

Three keys Tennessee

Tennessee faces BYU on Saturday in Knoxville. Here are your three keys to a Tennessee win over BYU.

Key 1 – Take a breath

You lost a football game you should have won. There are a lot of worse things that can happen in your life. Like accidentally walking in front of a dump truck or getting eaten alive by alligators. Anyway, there’s no need to throw the baby out with the bathwater. There’s a lot of talent on the Tennessee team. Put this loss behind you and move on and beat the snot of BYU. Winning cures things.

Key 2 – Turnovers

You can analyze and evaluate the Tennessee-Georgia State game all you want but it comes down to turnovers. Tennessee’s offense turned the ball over more than Georgia State’s offense did. Georgia State’s defense created more turnovers than the Tennessee defense. It was a -2 turnover differential for Tennessee for the game. That’s losing football. Turn that around to +2 and it’s winning football.

Key 3 – Presser Zach Wilson

Last week Cougar quarterback Zach Wilson didn’t have a great game against Utah. Wilson passed completed 21-of-33 for 208 yards, which sounds nice, but he had two interceptions. This key kind of goes with Key 2 (Turnovers). This a quarterback who is prone to make occasional poor throws. Tennessee’s defense needs to exploit that.

Saturday‘s game kicks off at 6:00 PM CT (7:00 PM ET). Watch on the ESPN Network.
