Most A&M enthusiasts are probably rolling their eyes at the thought of Texas State having a shot at giving the Aggies a tough fight. Well, what do we know about Texas State? First off, they have 19 starters back. Secondly, the Bobcats have a new head coach in Missouri grad Jake Spavital. Looking at the Bobcats game scores from 2018, Texas State played most opponents close (within 10 points) up to the final three games of the season. Then their normally decent offense suddenly could muster just 7 points in each game of the final 3 games. Not sure if there was some kind of key injury or what, but the point is we don’t know much about State. We do know that they have some experience coming back. We do know that they have a new skipper. What makes this kind of scary is that we don’t know what Texas State is going to do on Thursday and they at least have a few weapons. A&M’s challenge is for the Aggies not to look down their noses at TSU. Take the Bobcats seriously. Thankfully this game is an opener. Players on both squads should be bouncing off the walls to play some football. A&M will likely win this game by 20 or more but it might be interesting early in the game.
