Challenges for Mississippi State

One injury that is not mentioned in the Alabama injury list above is that of Jaylen Waddle who was injured on the opening kickoff on Saturday. Waddle is probably one of the top 3 or 4 players on the Alabama rosters. That’s a serious loss but Alabama is a reload program. They have very good players waiting in the wings for their chance.

State’s biggest challenge is to stop that Tide offensive machine that averages an SEC-leading 48.4 points a contest. The Tide’s defense struggles but who needs defense when you are scoring that much a game? Yes, you still need defense, of course. This should be a really tough game for State but Mike Leach had an extra week to work on things. He is a brilliant coach who will go all out to win the game but on the other sideline there will be a pretty good coach too.
