Arkansas Three Keys: Ole Miss

Three-keys-Arkansas

Arkansas hosts Ole Miss on Saturday in Fayetteville. Here are your three keys to an Arkansas win.

By Don Yates

1. Keep grinding

Arkansas has come a long way under new head coach Sam Pittman. They opened the season giving a very good Georgia team a fight for a half before falling. Then two weeks ago they shocked Mississippi State to end a long SEC losing streak. Now the Hogs get another tough matchup, this time with Ole Miss. Arkansas just needs to keep doing what they are doing. They are headed in the right direction under Pittman.

2. Corral Corral

Ole Miss quarterback Matt Corral ranks third nationally in passing efficiency (210.7). So far this season he has completed 67 of 88 passes for 1,080, 9 touchdowns and 1 interception. Ole Miss has one of the most dynamic offenses in college football. Lane Kiffin created it and Corral runs it. Arkansas needs to make things as rough as possible for Corral. Corral is going to get his but if the Razorbacks can at least slow him down and prevent one or two scores that he normally would be responsible for, then the Hogs have a chance to come away with a win.

3. Franks rolls

Arkansas has a better defense than Ole Miss but the Rebels get the edge offensively. Last week at Auburn Hog quarterback Feleipe Franks was 22-for-30 and threw for a career-high 318 yards. He passed for four touchdown passes against the Tigers, the first for a Hog since 2015. Franks should be able to do more this week as he’s facing a very bad defense. His team needs him to have a great day because Ole Miss has the ability to score in bunches.

Saturday‘s game kicks off at 2:30 PM CT (3:30 PM ET). Watch on the ESPN2 Network.
