Arkansas Football Three Keys: San Jose State

Three-keys-Arkansas

Arkansas faces San Jose State on Saturday in Fayetteville. Here are your three keys to an Arkansas win over San Jose State.

Key 1 – Win the turnover battle

Turnovers have been good to Arkansas in the two Razorback wins. The Hogs are sitting at a healthy plus 1.33 turnover margin. San Jose, by contrast, is even (0.0) with just as many turnovers given as turnovers gained. If the Hogs can continue winning the turnover battle it will increase the Razorback’s odds of winning games including this one.

Key 2 – Run, Run, Run

The San Jose State defense is allowing opponents 183 yards per game on average. That’s among the worst (101 of 130 teams) in the nation. The Hogs need to exploit this weakness in the Spartans. Running backs Rakeem Boyd and Devwah Whaley need to deliver a big day running on Saturday against the Spartans.

Key 3 – Show Love no love

Spartan senior Josh Love is a 6-foot-2, 205-pound quarterback from Mission Viejo, Calif. He’s no Joe Burrow but he’s been very efficient in guiding the Spartan offense. He’s completed 37-of-61 passes for 413 yards, three TDs and no interceptions. Love hasn’t gained a single yard rushing. If the Razorback defense can get to Love and make things uncomfortable for him, the Hogs can improve their chances of winning this game.

Saturday‘s game kicks off at 6:30 PM CT (7:30 PM ET). Watch on the SEC Network.
