Georgia got 30 points last week on Vandy but what’s crazy is that the Commodores held Georgia to a 14% conversion rate on third down. That’s crazy. Next to turnover margin, the third-down conversion rate is probably the most important indicator of whether or not a football team is sound. Of course, turnover ration can make a bad football team look really good. This Murray State team might be just the medicine for the Bulldogs this week to work on third-down conversions. Murray went 5-6 last season and has 6 starters back on defense and 8 on offense. They are not an elite FCS team but they a few OVC conference championships and have been to the NCAA FCS football tourney five times. Bottom line, this is a tuneup game to correct whatever deficiencies were found in Game 1. Georgia will win big again this week.
