In week 1 while Alabama was dominating Duke, New Mexico State was playing at Washington State and losing by over 50 points. Give Alabama credit for playing all FBS teams this season. Nick Saban has said that he doesn’t want to play FCS teams anymore. It makes sense because is these FBS-FCS games are usually like crocodiles against guinea pigs. However, this week’s Alabama opponent is the closest thing there is to an FCS team. Last season NMSU went 3-9, the teams they beat were a terrible UTEP team, Liberty (FBS transitional team then) and FCS Alcorn St. This season the Aggies have 14 starters back. They are probably a little better than last season, especially on offense, but you won’t be able to tell that on Saturday. Bama wins by a lot.
