Challenges for Tennessee

Tennessee football suffered one of the school’s most humiliating losses in history in a 38-30 loss to Georgia State in Neyland Stadium. The Vols have to pick themselves up off the mat, without pointing fingers, and work hard to get better. Put “Ball security” at the top of the list of things to work on in practice this week. Never mind the comments like, “Tennessee didn’t have a sense of urgency” or “GSU ran at will against the Vols.” The fact is, had Tennessee not turned the ball over so much they might have won the game. Two plays into the game they gift Georgia State with a turnover deep in Vol territory. A few plays later it’s 7-0 Georgia State. Then there’s the late interception that sealed UT’s fate. UT’s offense needs to protect the ball while the defense forces a couple of turnovers from the opponent.

Saturday‘s game kicks off at 6:00 PM CT (7:00 PM ET). Watch on the ESPN Network.
