SEC Football Power Poll

Every team in the SEC has now played at least one game. Look inside to see our first 2019 edition of the weekly SEC football power poll.

Keep in mind that it’s very early in the season. You can’t get a good idea of how good a football team is based solely on the season opener. For one, you have no idea what an opponent is going to throw at you. The only video you have is from the year before. There could be new coaches, new players and other criteria that means different schemes being developed. In a nutshell, right now your favorite team may not be as good as you think it is or bad of you think. Here is this week’s SEC Football Power Poll.

Bama defense reloads and shuts down Duke and David Cutcliffe. Bama wins the first down battle 30-11 and limits Duke to 204 total yards offense.

Georgia RB D’Andre Swift has 149 yards on 16 carries in a 30-6 win at Vandy. Dogs pile up 481 yards of offense to Vandy’s 225.

Gators survive Miami in one of the sloppiest games in the history of football. UF had a bye week and will play UT-Martin on Saturday.

Gamecocks fall to rival North Carolina 24-20 in Charlotte. USC led 20-10 at the beginning of the 4th quarter.

Mizzou loses at Wyoming 37-31. Cowboys scored 27 points in the 2nd quarter to doom the Tigers.

Ole Miss falls at Memphis 15-10. Ole Miss gains just 173 yards total offense.

Vanderbilt handled by Georgia, 30-6. Dore RB Ke’Shawn Vaughn gains 74 yards on 15 carries.

Hogs hold off FCS Portland State 20-13. Arkansas RB Rakeem Boyd runs for 114 yards and 1 TD on 18 carries.

Tennessee stunned in Neyland Stadium by Georgia State, 38-30. Tennessee’s 2 lost fumbles and 1 interception compared to GSU single turnover (a fumble) are the difference in this game.
