Challenges for Tennessee
You probably don’t know much about Georgia State. The Panthers went 2-10 in 2018. Most of those losses were by double-digits. Head coach Shawn Elliott is in his third year at State. Elliott has a healthy 7 starters back on both sides of the ball. Dual-threat senior quarterback Dan Ellington returns. Last season he completed 174 of 292 passes for 2,119 yards, 12 TDs and 5 picks. State graduated its top receiver from a year ago but returns every other receiver. Ellington also led the team in rushing last season, running for 625 yards. On defense, the Panthers return their top tackler from a year ago. Linebacker Ed Curney 81 tackles last season.
The challenge for Tennessee is just to win the darn ball game. Tennessee has missed two straight bowl games. The Vols need six wins to end that streak and if they drop this game, six wins may not happen. However, we expect Tennessee to win by double-digits.
Saturday‘s game kicks off at 2:30 PM CT (3:30 PM ET). Watch on the ESPNU network.
