Challenges for Arkansas

The Razorbacks have nowhere to go but up after last season’s miserable 2-10 season. What do we know about Portland State other than the fact the Neil Lomax and June Jones played their college ball there? Portland State University, of course, is located in Portland, OR, and has over 28,000 students. PSU’s football team finished the 2018 season with a 4-7 record. Head coach Bruce Barnum enters his fifth season with a record of 16-29. The Vikings return nine on offense and eight on defense. FCS All-America tight end Charlie Taumoepeau (6-3, 245) is one of the Viking’s top returners. Last season he had 28 receptions. On interesting player for PSU is offensive lineman John Krahn, a JUCO transfer who is an incredible 6-foot-10, 410 pounds. On defensive returning safeties Ryan Lesch (6-1, 200) and Anthony Adams (6-0, 180) combined for 90 tackles last season.

Arkansas challenge is to just win this game. They won two in 2018, so winning this one gives them already half their win total of all last season. Chad Morris is a highly respected head coach. Look for the Razorbacks to make great strides in 2019.
