Challenges for South Carolina
South Carolina’s team recently learned that it will play Akron on December 1 in a game that will replace the canceled Marshall contest. South Carolina will finish their season out with games against Florida, Chattanooga, Clemson and Akron. It’s very possible the Gamecocks could win three of those four. Florida will not be winnable as Akron or Chattanooga but the Gamecocks have at least a shot at finishing the season 8-4 with a decent bowl bid because their fans travel well.
Challenges for Florida
The Gators let a bad loss to Georgia become two losses. Florida was a no-show mentally for the Mizzou game with turnovers and breakdowns in special team costing them dearly. Now they get to host a pretty good South Carolina team coached by a coach who was kicked to the curb by the Gator administration. You know he’ll be burning the midnight oil this week to be ready for Florida.
