Challenges for South Carolina
South Carolina is a team that has done well for itself. The Gamecocks might be sitting at 6-3 right now if not for the hurricane that resulted in the canceling of the Marshall game. In Oxford the Gamecocks will have to deal with quarterback Jordan Ta’amu who leads the SEC and ranks among the top five in the NCAA in passing yards with 2,622. Ta’amu also ranks fifth nationally with 15.16 yards per completion.
Challenges for Ole Miss
The Gamecocks feature a stable of four junior running backs. Carolina is averaging 4.7 yards per rush after averaging just 3.9 yards a year ago. The 224 yards rushing against Tennessee was the fourth-highest single-game total for the Gamecocks under head coach Will Muschamp and the second-highest mark against a Power-5 opponent.
Saturday’s game kicks off at 11 am CT (Noon ET) and can be seen on the SEC Network.
