Challenges for South Carolina
South Carolina’s challenge is to use its super special teams to help defeat Missouri. Mizzou is currently allowing opponents over 26 yards per punt return on average. That’s the worst in the Football Bowl Subdivision. Ironically, Mizzou is one of the best nationally at kickoff return defense, allowing only 13.7 yards per return. The Tigers are also one of the worst nationally in net punting, averaging only about 35 yards per punt. Special teams will likely play a key role in the outcome of this game.
