Challenges for Auburn
If ever there was a wonderful sports success story, it’s the Stetson Bennett saga with the Georgia Bulldogs. Bennett worked his way up from being a walk-on at Georgia, who transferred to a junior college for his second college season. After leading his team to the Junior College National Title, he transferred back to Georgia and ultimately led the dogs to the National Championship. Georgia is very fortunate to have Bennett. He continues to play well for the Bulldogs. So far this season Bennett has 116 completions on 167 attempts (69.5%) for over 1,500 yards, five touchdowns and just one interception. Interestingly, Bennett hasn’t thrown a TD pass in his past two games. He threw his only interception of the season against Kent State a couple weeks ago. Don’t expect that lull to last though, Georgia is still loaded with an outstanding supporting cast for Bennett and Kirby Smart will get things fixed.
Bennett and the Bulldogs are a tough nut to crack for any team in college football. Auburn has to have a sound plan to keep Bennett from piling up the yardage and inflicting another defeat on the Tigers.
