Challenges for Mississippi State
Texas A&M rides its tough defense to success. The Aggies allow opponents only 11.8 points per game on average. Texas A&M isn’t perfect on defense, however. They specialize in stopping the pass averaging just 153.2 yards allowed per game through the air which is a concern for pass-happy Mississippi State. The Aggies struggle at stopping the run allowing almost 177 yards per game, which is 104th best out of 131 FBS teams. The state has to find a way to crack that Texas A&M passing defense. Defensive back Jardin Gilbert has three passes broken up and an intercepted so far this season. If Mississippi State can’t outplay that A&M pass defense it could be a long day. They might want to consider mixing in a little more run to keep the Aggie defense honest.
Saturday‘s game kicks off at 3:00 PM CT (4:00 PM ET). Watch this SEC football game on the SEC Network.
