Challenges for South Carolina
South Carolina’s challenge is in scoring on defending National Champion Georgia’s ferocious defense. The Dawgs allow only 220 total yards per game. They have allowed just three points in their first two games. Georgia is the only FBS team that has yet to surrender a touchdown. Senior OLB Nolan Smith, redshirt sophomore DB Kelee Ringo and senior safety Chris Smith are the Dogs’ three returning defensive starters from last season’s team.
Carolina’s offense will have its hands full on Saturday. If the Gamecocks can reach double digits in scoring that would be a sort of moral victory. If they could beat Georgia that would shock the college football world.
