Challenges for Vanderbilt
Vandy’s got an enormous challenge on Saturday. It’s slowing down that potent Vol offense which is putting up about 460 yards and over 38 points per game. How did this come about? The Vols used the transfer portal to bring in veteran quarterback Hendon Hooker from Virginia Tech. So far this season Hooker has been a very accurate passer but also a big-time running threat. Hooker has connected on 169 of 242 passes for 2,407 yards, 24 touchdowns and three interceptions. He’s also run for 487 yards and five scores. The Vandy defense needs to play the game of their lives in order for the Commodores to have a shot at being the rival Vols.
