Challenges for Ole Miss

Lane Kiffin returns to visit the Tennessee team that in 2009 he left after just one season on the job. It’s been over a decade since that so who knows how much that will impact this game? The Vols have a 4-2 record halfway through the regular season. This success certainly seemed possible prior to the season but the manner in which the Vols won their last two games must have upcoming opposing coaches worried. UT piled up 107 combined points against Missouri and South Carolina.

A big reason for Tennessee’s resurgence has been the play of Virginia Tech transfer quarterback Hendon Hooker, who previously passed for over 3,800 yards in three seasons with Hokies. This season with the Vols he’s completed 78 of 112 passes for 1,063 yards, 13 touchdowns, and just one interception. He’s also run for 282 yards and three scores. Tennessee, like Ole Miss, has a very good running game. They are gaining over 250 yards per game. They have three backs that gain significant yardage with Tiyon Evans having the most success with 486 yards and six touchdowns.

Saturday‘s game kicks off at 6:30 PM CT (7:30 PM ET). You can watch this SEC football game on the SEC Network.
