Challenges for Ole Miss

A year ago the Ole Miss Rebels might have contended for a national title had they had even a decent defense. Ole Miss has a ton of talent on both sides of the ball back for 2021. Maybe the defense will be better. They should be. First things first though, there’s a game with Louisville looming on Monday night. A year ago Louisville averaged almost 450 yards a game while the Cardinal defense limited opponents to about 350 yards a contest. Louisville’s quarterback is a sound player. Last season Malik Cunningham passed for 2,600 yards and 12 TDs and ran for 7 more scores. What hurt the Cardinals was turnovers, they had way too many. This is something Ole Miss needs to keep in mind before the write off the Cardinals. If the Card have fixed their turnover woes then they could be a much better team won/loss wise compared to 2020. Ole Miss’ job is to make sure that the winning trend doesn’t start against the Rebels.

Monday‘s game kicks off at 7:00 PM CT (8:00 PM ET). You can watch this SEC football game on the ESPN Network.
