Kentucky-Tennessee Prediction

Is it hyperbolic to call this the biggest regular-season men’s basketball game in Tennessee history? I don’t think so. Kentucky at Tennessee is a moment of truth for the Vols, who lost to Big Blue in Rupp Arena and then lost at LSU because Lamonte Turner took a bad shot and Grant Williams committed an even worse foul at the end of overtime. Tennessee needs this game for a million different reasons. One is to stay as a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament instead of falling to No. 3. Another is to avenge the loss in Rupp a few weeks ago. Most of all, though, this team – which labored through much of February – needs to notch a top-tier win before the NCAA Tournament, if only to remind itself that it can beat an elite team. Where is the team which defeated Gonzaga? It needs to show up… but will it? Kentucky 64, Tennessee 61. (Matt Zemek)
