Vanderbilt-LSU Prediction
Vanderbilt can’t shoot. Vanderbilt can’t score. Vanderbilt went winless in SEC play at Memorial Gym this season. Maybe if the Commodores had been able to host Georgia or Missouri, they might have been able to get an SEC win this year. That is not the case this Saturday. Vanderbilt merely has to visit the first-place team in the conference. Whereas Vanderbilt was winless at home, LSU has gone unbeaten on the road. The Tigers have been an incredibly strong and resilient team in overtime games and close games this season. They have answered every challenge and have received contributions throughout their roster. They have thrived under late-game pressure. They haven’t flinched when past LSU teams would have. Despite the distractions with Tiger head coach Will Wade being wire tapped by the FBI, revealing possible payments to players, LSU will win this game and clinch the SEC championship, plus the No. 1 seed at the SEC Tournament. Later many of LSU’s wins this season could be vacated but vacated losses does nothing for Vandy. LSU 72, Vanderbilt 54. (Matt Zemek)
