Vanderbilt-Florida Prediction

The Vanderbilt Commodores continue their pursuit of their first SEC win of the season. While no one would expect VU to win this game on Wednesday night in Gainesville, Florida is not quite the kind of team which makes that notion impossible. Florida lost at home to South Carolina in its SEC opener. The Gators almost lost at home to Ole Miss, and they have lost their biggest SEC home games of the season, to Kentucky and Tennessee. This is a team which does not finish games well and – after a loss at Tennessee this past Saturday – could be depressed and flat. Florida is not completely out of the NCAA Tournament hunt, though, and a loss here would be crushing for the Gators. Expect them to play with energy, which should be enough for them to handle a Vanderbilt offense which simply can’t score very reliably this year. Florida 68, Vanderbilt 60. (Matt Zemek)
