Vanderbilt-Alabama Prediction
The Vanderbilt Commodores keep playing really good defense and really bad offense, and the offense continues to be bad enough to exceed the defense’s achievements and merits. VU keeps living the same Groundhog Day scenario over and over again. It can’t get out of this nightmare, and on Saturday, it faces an opponent which simply has to win if it expects to be in the NCAA Tournament. Alabama might still be in the field of 68 as of right now, but a loss at home to Vanderbilt – on the heels of getting swept by Texas A&M and losing at home to bubble-hugging Florida – will push Bama to the bad side of the bubble. The Crimson Tide simply can’t lose to an opponent with zero SEC wins. It will kill their resume. Alabama will win this game if only because it absolutely has to, and that’s not an exaggeration. Alabama 63, Vanderbilt 57. (Matt Zemek)
