South Carolina-LSU Prediction

Raise your hand if you predicted that this South Carolina-LSU game on Jan. 19 would feature two teams with unbeaten SEC records. This rates as a considerable surprise in the early stages of the SEC. It doesn’t mean these teams are headed for March glory, but it does mean that they have played their way into better positions. Frank Martin’s team continues to win very close games. It was fighting uphill for much of the evening at Vanderbilt earlier this week but made plays late to steal a win in Nashville. South Carolina has been supremely focused late in games, and that has gone a long way for Martin’s men. LSU is flexing its muscles a little more. It outmuscled Alabama and slapped a 14-point beating at Ole Miss, earning 13 more foul shots than the Rebels (30-17). LSU looks like the better team. LSU 71, South Carolina 65. (Matt Zemek)
